Is Your Cat Stressed?

Stress has negative effects on us as humans, but did you know that your cat can have stress too? Most cats actually hide their stress, which is not always a good thing because stress in cats can actually be a bigger indication of a larger health issue.

Here are some signs to look for if your cat is stressed:

1. Urinating outside of the litter box

2. Decrease in appetite

3. Excessive grooming

4. Diarrhea, constipation, or other digestive issues

5. Excessive vocalization

6. Isolation

If you notice your cat displaying any of these behaviors, take your cat to see the veterinarian. You know your cat better than anyone, so if something seems out of the ordinary, chances are something is wrong. It is better to take your cat for a check-up than to delay the onset of what could potentially be a serious health issue.

Stop by Harmony House for Cats this Sunday, August 9th from 1-4pm, for their Cat Days of Summer. This new event includes their popular Pet Psychic Readings, Donation Wine Bar, Bag Raffle and a first ever cooking contest, Recipe for Purrfection. Relax in the courtyard, visit with all the cats, and celebrate the Cat Days of Summer!
